Job Description

About the Role

Habot Connect DMCC is scaling and looking for a motivated professional to ensure the accuracy of financial records, support UAE regulatory requirements, and assist in the transition to automated accounting systems like Zoho Books. As our Remote Junior Accountant – Accounts & Tax, you will play a key role in managing the financial affairs of our founder/owner, supporting company accounting and tax functions, and maintaining the financial integrity of Habot Connect DMCC.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Meticulous daily maintenance and preparation of books of accounts.
  • Managing the founder’s personal finances, including tracking income, expenses, and ensuring timely compliance with Indian personal income tax regulations.
  • Assisting with Indian Income Tax requirements, internal audit, and other compliances such as income tax filings, capital gain, and shares transfer.
  • Coordinating and supporting external and internal audit processes, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and documentation, as well as conducting internal audits of Dubai operations with a focus on process compliance, bank balance reconciliation, and operational efficiency.
  • Overseeing Remittance of Funds, ensuring compliance with banking regulations and proper documentation.
  • Performing bank reconciliations by matching transactions and resolving discrepancies
  • Handling Bank KYC documentation, updates, and liaison with banking institutions to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Supporting the preparation of comprehensive financial reports and documentation.
  • Executing data migration and providing support for the transition to Zoho Books and QuickBooks.
  • Contributing to the development of internal automated data entry systems and designing/maintaining MIS trackers to monitor the daily frequency.
  • Handling other ad-hoc tasks as required to support the accounts team and the broader organization.
Core Competencies
  • Familiarity with Google Sheets, Zoho Books, or QuickBooks for transaction recording and system migration.
  • Proven experience in managing personal finances; extensive knowledge of Indian tax laws and regulations; familiarity with UAE accounting and regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations, audit coordination, banking compliance, and fund remittance processes.
  • Ability to use spreadsheets for MIS work and data tracking.
  • Ability to support internal and external audits, perform reconciliations, evaluate internal controls, and assess financial processes.
  • Ability to perform Pareto analysis and use numerical aptitude to audit banking transactions.
  • Comfort using login-based systems to verify documents.
  • A proactive and strategic mindset focused on process improvement.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to new financial situations, and stay updated on regulations and accounting standards.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for seamless remote collaboration; strong
  • interpersonal skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
